Today I had a case where I needed to create a list of posts from two different post types, which in itself isn’t all that hard using WP_Query(). The catch here was I needed all posts from one post type and just the posts that were in a certain taxonomy from the other. The solution was a simple tax_query() using a relation of “or” and using the “IN” operator to isolate the posts we wanted. This may or may not be the best solution, but it’s the one that worked for us, so I thought I’d share!

Apparently, somewhere around October 26th or 27th my database took a dump and for whatever reason all my posts went missing. :(
But, thanks to my new all-time favorite WordPress plugin – WordPress Database Backup – all my info was restored. I suggest that if you are a WordPress user you download and install this plugin if you value your content. I’ve set my plugin to send me a daily backup – and it is the only* reason all of my content and hard work was saved.
* Yes, my host could have restored my posts from their backup, but wanted to charge me $25 to do so.
As a WordPress devotee I am constantly looking for new, helpful and easy to use plugins that not I will use on this site, but clients can use as well. Every few months I start a search for new plugins to test, use and share with others. I’ve already compiled a couple of lists of my favorites which you can look over here:
Now, I’ve compiled a new list with amazing plugins that I currently use or have used on client’s sites that I recommend everyone try out if they fit your needs!
Well, it’s about time isn’t it!
WordPress.com has announced that it is dropping support for IE6 due to the fact that “It has required increasingly complex code trickery to make the WordPress dashboard work in the IE6 browser, which was introduced 10 years ago and does not support current web standards”.
Working on the portfolio has been a super intensive project. I really hoped to get more done on CSSgirl today – like adding some new content, editing my Work Request & Hire Me forms, seeing if this permalink redirection plugin recommended by @davidius works for me and general bug testing.
Can’t wait for tomorrow!
